Abstracts

G-Node Conference App

Conference abstracts, schedules, and other information hosted on https://abstracts.g-node.org/conferences can be downloaded on mobile devices (Android and iOS) for offline viewing. These web apps (called Progressive Web Apps) are locally stored versions of web sites, with all the required data necessary to browse the conference information without an internet connection.

If you would like to browse the G-Node conference website while offline, please follow the instructions below.

How to download the G-Node conferences site for offline viewing

Requirements

To use this feature you will need:

  • For Android devices: Android 5.0 or higher running Chrome version 40 or newer or Firefox 58 or newer.
  • For iOS devices (iPhone & iPad): iOS 11.1 or newer (using the Safari browser).

To start, open the G-Node Abstracts website (https://abstracts.g-node.org) on your mobile browser.

Chrome

Once the website has finished loading, you will see a banner at the bottom of the page with the text "Add G-Node Conferences to Home screen". If this banner does not appear when you first visit the site, try reloading the page.

Tap this banner and confirm the action on the popup dialog box.

Depending on Android and Chrome version, an icon may be placed on the device's home screen with the name "G-Node Conferences", or it can be found in the application drawer.

Firefox

Once the website has finished loading, a button will appear in the toolbar shaped like a home button with a cross (+) in it.

Tap this button and confirm the action in the new dialog box that appears at the top of the page.

When the app is ready, you will be prompted to place the icon on your Home screen

Either press and hold the icon to place it manually on your home screen, or press "Add Automatically" to have it placed automatically.

Safari (iOS)

Once the website has finished loading, press the Action (Share) button in the bottom toolbar

In the Action Menu, find the action labelled "Add to Home Screen"

Tap this button to show the "Add to Home Screen" dialog.

You can change the text that will appear under the icon on the home screen here. Once you are done, tap the Add button and the icon will be placed on your device's home screen.

Final step

Before going offline, it is recommended to open the newly installed app to make sure all the data has finished downloading.

Information for authors:

Submission of the abstract is to be made directly into the system, it's not possible to upload a PDF or Word-file. The maximum length of the abstract is 1500 characters and you can add 1 image in one of the following formats; GIF, JPG or PNG. The image should be at least 700 pixels wide and no larger than 5MB.

Presentation types:

Poster: Preliminary poster measurements are W110 cm x H180 cm. The materials required for mounting posters will be provided.

Demo: Each demo station consists of a table, chairs, poster board, electrical supply, and internet access via broadband LAN.

Investigator presentation: The Program committee will select 24, 20-minute presentations from submitted abstracts with priority given to abstracts within any of the congress themes listed below:

  • Informatics for brain modeling
  • Science gateways and reproducible computing
  • Collaborative neuroscience knowledge building tools
  • Large-scale databasing and mega-analyses
  • Knowledge infrastructure
  • Data standards and reproducibility
  • Machine learning and data mining
  • Novel analytics for clinical data
